Exciting news today! I have another free quilt tutorial over at the Moda Bake Shop for everyone on this fine Wednesday! Head on over to the Moda Bake Shop and check out Simply Woven. This quilt comes together very quickly using jelly rolls, a solid background fabric and a fun slice and dice block construction method.
I was lucky enough to get to play with some Simply Color by V and Co. I absolutely love the bright saturated colors in this line, and plan on stocking up on yardage in those chevrons and hombre solids. Love. Simply Color is available this month, so be on the lookout for this great fabric line!
Be sure to stop over to the Moda Bake Shop, and leave me a comment to tell me what you think!

ReplyDeleteHi, I love this pattern and would like to know if you have the "recipe" for a twin size with all the fabric requirements? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first quilt i've ever seen where I want to recreate it exactly! I bought a Simply Color charm pack last summer and fell in love with every single fabric. Now in addition to yardage I need a jelly roll to make this amazi g quilt! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteExcellent bed sheet, with fabulous colors, the knitting is too perfect and the dice block construction method give it a perfect look, nice to be used in the bedroom.

Love this quilt !!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to make it......
love, love this tutorial... inspired me to make my own! check it out at Offquilter.wordpress.com (search for madras plaid)... thank you so much for sharing, it helped me so much :-)
ReplyDeleteI would like to make this lap size. I'm not good at the "pre thinking":) If i just cut HALF of everying, would i just get HALF the size or would it distort the stitching of the blocks..Sorry to sound so dumb, but i love this quilt and would love to adapt to smaller size. I have a ton of JR's i'd love to use up and this would disperse the colors so well...:)
ReplyDeletejust make fewer squares... i see this was asked in 2016---Barbara probably found a solution by now!
DeleteJess, I would love to make this beautiful quilt! The Moda Bake Shop archives aren’t available and haven’t been for some time. Is there another way to access the tutorial for this pattern?
ReplyDeleteThanks!

What would you recommend for pressing these? I have 48 squares ... the first stage finished, with two background pieces with a central stripe. I have not yet pressed these and wonder what way is best....i tend to think if I press the seams open that will be better in the long run as far as thickness goes...because if I press to one side that will leave two layers to sew through on the next stage, rather than just one...and since this is re-cut and re-sewn several times the layers will build up on the final squares. I am making this with black back-ground, and 6 solid rainbow colors....with each square being identical so the "weaving" pattern will be continuous and look like it really is woven. (i hope)
