It's Wednesday, and you all know what that means, times to dish on this weeks progress! No completed projects to share, but I have made decent progress on my Swoon quilt and my FLiQS swap mini, here's a peek:
In Progress
FLiQS
I put the finishing touches on my sparkle punch mini quilt top for my FLiQS partner, and I have to say I'm quite smitten. My partner and I seem to have very similar quilty tastes, so it's no surprise I'm super tempted to keep this one for me! I've started hand quilting this little guy, and I'm hoping to get a good bit more quilted this weekend on our trip out of town to visit friends.
Swoon Quilt
I'll tell you a little secret. When I started on my Swoon I wasn't super sold on the idea that I would love this quilt when all was said and done. The pattern is just a little more traditional than my typical tastes, but I was drinking the Swoon Kool Aid and was caught up in the Swoon-along excitement. I figured I'd give it a go and at least use up some stash fabric that needed to be used, and see where this went. Well, after seeing 6 of my 9 blocks completed, I have to say I'm in love. This may just be my most favorite favorite quilt to date and I am itching to get the last three blocks completed to see what it will look like.
New Projects
Retro Flowers Baby Quilt
I decided to start a new baby quilt for a dear friend who will be having a baby girl next month. I know she is a huge fan of aqua, so I decided to use one of my current favorite color combos of light grey, yellow and aqua. I am using Christina's Retro Flowers Quilt as my inspiration, and have altered the dimensions to use my Accuquilt GO! Baby and Drunkards Path die. I am really excited to see this quilt come together, its such a fresh and fun pattern and will be just perfect for a new baby girl.
